RecordNow! Offers most features people may need in order to burn CDs and DVDs. The interface is simple and is divided in diverse tasks according your desires. For instance, if you want to fill a CD or DVD with audio you click on audio, the same for video, data and for backup. Inside these divisions, there are also other options, such as ‘data disc’, ‘data image’ and exact copy’ inside the data tab.
There’s something I should mention before I go on talking about the product, and that is the help and online support. It is true that I have been around computers for a while, but I am not a tech guru and sometime –more often that you could imagine- I have problems with a program and I just can’t find the right piece of help. This software has plenty of help both on manual or online. I guess that you –as I do- will also appreciate it!
Now, let’s go to the features of the software. The audio tab will let you create audio CDs (including MP3, WMA and M4A formats) so that you can play them in a CD player. It also provides the possibility to rip audio CDs and save them to your hard disk.
The Data section will let you record data to your CD/DVD. You can record your wedding photos or any document. So far you everything that all recording software has, except for one that is in the Backup tab. This section will exceed a mere copy action from your HD to a disk. RecordNow! Will scan your HD in search of images, emails, etc and will place them according to the category they belong.
Sonic RecordNow! provides a good product for such a low price. Is a good choice to start with or as an upgrade from a bundle version. Nevertheless, it lacks some features that could make of this software a very powerful recording software.
